Cultures coalesce in a celebration of music spanning the globe. Toru Takemitsu’s gentle, poetic sound world recreates the hypnotic calm of the ocean between tidal vacillations. Aaron Copland embraces his heritage in Vitebsk, a study on a Jewish theme. Characters are vivid, noble and grotesque in music that is dramatic, frenzied and wonderful. Kenji Bunch takes us on a whirlwind tour of New York City nightlife in his 2002 smash hit. Remember your party shoes!

Eril Tan has compiled a book recounting and updating the history of the Musical Society in Victoria, to co-incide with the celebration of 150 years.
