RESULTS OF 12 YEARS AND UNDER AND 15 YEARS AND UNDER ARE AS FOLLOWS

Auditions for these awards were held on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th March 2023.  The standard was remarkably high, and there was a large amount of entrants.  

Congratulations to all who participated.  For many it was the first time and they gained a great deal from the experience.  Results are:

12 YEARS AND UNDER PIANOS:

1st - Aaron Su; 2nd - equal Ian Zhou and Amy Liao; 3rd - Sophia Lu Han                                    Honourable Mention - Justin Li; Emma Li; Melody Huang

12 YEARS AND UNDER STRINGS:

15 YEARS AND UNDER WINDS:

The first and second placegetters in each section will perform in a public concert at 2.30 p.m. in the Stonnington Community Uniting Church, corner of Burke Road and Coppin Street on SATURDAY MARCH 25th.  Please come and listen to these wonderful musicians and support the musical scene in Melbourne.  Tickets $10 at the door.

CHAMBER MUSIC AWARD

The Chamber Music concert was held on Saturday May 27th.  It was a most enjoyable afternoon and the groups who played were all of an extremely high standard.  Results are:

FIRST PLACE:  PRET String Quartet:  Poppy Savage, Violin; Raistlin Chan, Violin, Tom Protat, Viola and Ethan Chiao, Cello

SECOND PLACE:  ANERES Piano Trio:  Serena Zhang, Piano; Raistlin Chan, Violin; Ethan Chiao, Cello

 

RESULTS OF 18 YEARS AND UNDER AWARDS

Auditions for the 18 Years and Under Awards were held on the weekend of 29/30 July.  All adjudicators were impressed with the high standard of playing and all wished they could offer more prizes.  Here are the results:

PIANOS:  1st - Jasmine Lai; 2nd - Serena Zhang; 3rd - Angelina Wang

STRINGS: 1st - Paulina Huang, Violin; 2nd - Yuelin Cui, Violin; 3rd - Christopher Ran, Cello

WINDS:  1st - Cecilia Xu, French Horn; 2nd - Kayla Hong, Clarinet; 3rd - Hannah Yang, Clarinet

VOCAL: 1st - Sophie Cowall; 2nd - Lucy Nieuwesteeg; 3rd - David Jones-Lerdprakun

All these people will perform at a Prizewinners' Concert on Sunday, August 20th at the Stonnington Community Uniting Church, corner of Burke Road and Coppin Street EAST MALVERN, at 2.30 p.m. Please come along and support these outstanding musicians, as well as enjoying a wonderful concert.  Tickets at the door are $10.

HEPHZIBAH MENUHIN AWARD CONCERT

Finalists in the Hephzibah Menuhin awards performed in an outstanding concert on Sunday October 1st.  It was most enjoyable and all performers shone with musical virtuosity.  Results are;

ARMSTEAD SINGING AWARD

After an outstanding concert, the results of the Armstead Singing Award are:
